International Top-level Forum on Engineering Science and Technology Development Strategy is a high-end academic activity organized and hosted by the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Taking into account the engineering science and technology development strategy for the next two decades and focusing on current critical, difficult, and hot issues, the Forum aims to build a high-level communication platform for top Chinese and international experts in related fields. By capturing the latest technology trends through discussions and exchanges, the Forum will play an active role in leading engineering technology development.
From the international ‘Grand Energy’ perspective and focusing on the integrated energy revolution and digital revolution trend, the Forum explores solutions to sustainable energy development challenges, and deliberates on the role of the power system in the green and low-carbon energy revolution. By means of bringing the power system into play as a bridge to connect power production and consumption, it aims to build a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient modern energy system, and contribute towards ecological civilization.
This Forum is also known as the 5th Purple Mountain Forum, which is the annual event of the Purple Mountain Forum series of academic activities. In 2015, with the aim to facilitate academic communication and exchanges on power technology development under the ‘Grand Energy’ context, the Purple Mountain Forum was advocated and named by Academician Xue Yusheng, Honorary President of the State Grid Electric Power Research Institute. After years of development, the Forum has gradually evolved into a conference-level forum with participation by academicians and industry experts from all over the world.
